A highlight of the Farewell Banquet was our program of acknowledgements and awards to all our Perry shipmates for services rendered beyond the 'call of duty'. As we concluded our program, I was asked by Bob Hales to remain on deck for a moment. I was in total shock and without words when Bob then presented me the beautiful replica model of the pre-fram USS Perry DD-844. What a gift!!!  I will forever cherish this beautiful memento and promise to share it with my shipmates for years to come. Steve Silk
